Quick update
I just returned to work on Tuesday after being gone since Feb. 25. I was in Florida for the first week helping my mom care for my dad. Sadly he passed away early Saturday morning. He got his wish though and that was to come home. My mom & I flew home on March 4 for the funeral. Hubby wasn't worried about it but I was glad I could come home on his birthday. The funeral was this past Monday and mom went home Tuesday morning. She's going to stay in Florida for right now. She needs to find out for herself what she wants to do and where she wants to live. We would all love for her to come home but that is not our decision. I believe she will come home if her health fails but that is not an issue now. So that is my update and what I have been doing since my last post. I will write again soon when I feel up to it. Have a good weekend!

Really....
I'm not ignoring you. It's just winter and there's really not much going on. I've been working on cards, puzzles and reading books. I did go to my Hobby Hens weekend at the beginning of this month. It was a great weekend as expected. I took a half day vacation so we could get there earlier this year. Not to mention how much more stuff I took this year. The bad news is that those ladies aren't going to do it again next year......but don't you worry.....my friends Nancy & Loree and I don't want it to end so we are going to plan our own weekend. The date has been booked for April 9-11, 2010 and hotel rooms saved. We need to get together to do some planning and come up with a catchy name. We think we can easily get 20-30 women between the three of us. Nancy is a Stampin' Up rep and a school teacher and Loree and I have our churches and the stamping group. With us included, we already have 10 women so it shouldn't be hard to round up a few more.
My dad is getting much worse. He is actually in the hospital right now. He has been really sick and was totally weak and began vomitting blood on Saturday night so my mom had an ambulance come because she couldn't move him. He has internal bleeding somewhere. They are doing an endoscopy today to try to find out where. Not much else to say on this subject.....
On the home front......my hubby is turning 50 on March 4. We have an overnighter in Amish country planned but we may have to postpone that depending on what happens with my dad. I picked up his present yesterday because of that reason. I didn't want to get caught with nothing for him because all hell breaks loose. For that reason, I am also sending my favorite nephew his birthday card today. It may get there a little early but I didn't want to miss it. Yep, Robert's birthday is March 3. Happy birthday Big Bud and Little Bud!!! Well, that's about it for today. It's a pretty ho-hum day. I hope yours is good! Over and out.......

Nothing.....
Sorry I haven't posted in a while but there's really nothing much going on. It's been cold and we have lots of snow. I've been working on puzzles lately. I've done 3 - 500 piece puzzles. One of Monte Carlo, one of London, and one of Tokyo. Now I'm working on a cat puzzle. It has no border, 5 extra pieces and 750 pieces. I'm not sure this one will get done. A friend of mine gave it to me to try. She had taken a picture of it when it was done and asked if I wanted it or wanted to do it on my own.......heck yeah I want the picture! What are you crazy.....I'll take all the help I can get. It took her 2 weeks working on it throughout the day. I only work on them at night so I should get done in time for spring.
Well, it's not as exciting as Hawaii but I'm going away for the weekend this weekend. This is my Hobby Hens weekend. Just me and my friend Loree and about 50 other women scrapbooking and/or stamping from Friday until Sunday. I'm leaving work about 11:30 so we can get there earlier this year. I have almost my whole room packed up to take with me. Believe me I have nothing compared to some of these women. I don't know what I want to work on so I'm taking it all. Guaranteed, I'll forget something. Some of the women don't sleep (they would be the ones with little kids and this is there only chance to get something done) while others (like me) take time out for the hot tub and some sleep. Not alot but some...I'm getting older and I need alittle sleep. I'll be home sometime Sunday afternoon. Hubby and the dogs are on their own.
This Friday is also L-boy's birthday. He's getting up there...he's gonna be 30! Fem is taking him to see Larry the Cable Guy who will actually be at the Canton Civic Center on Friday. Perfect birthday present! We'll do some family celebrating on Sunday when I get home. I need to make sure I wrap some presents before I go. My hubby's 50th birthday is also coming up. I am taking him to the Amish Door (we have a gift card) on Tuesday night (Robert's b-day) and then we are gonna play in Amish country for the day on his b-day. I got a room with a separate sitting area with a fireplace, a jacuzzi and king size bed. A nice getaway in the middle of the week. I'm not sure what his present will be yet or when we'll have our family celebration. That will depend on everyone's schedule.
So that's pretty much it. Stay warm. Until next time....have a great day!

Not much....
going on that is. It's winter and I tend to hibernate. I don't do too much outside and I don't go many places. I like to stay in and work on cards, puzzles and my favorite...read! I have already done 2 puzzles and am on my third. The puzzle table goes up as soon as the Christmas decorations go down the weekend after New Year's Day. I love puzzles and my family thinks I'm nuts. However, I have known them to find a piece or two....you know....were just trying to help. They can't help themselves. I haven't been making too many cards but I'm going to a stamp camp on Saturday and then a Hobby Hens weekend at the beginning of February. I have done some shopping though because I got some gift cards for Christmas. I LOVE gift cards!!! I got some fun new stamping stuff. I probably will play upstairs this weekend. As far as books go......I read all the time. A hobby that I'm proud to say my daughter enjoys as well. So much so, that she has a degree in English. Now that's a love of reading! So that's about it for now....it's cold and I'm holed up in my house.....except for bowling night....which is tomorrow......OMG....this is Friday Eve! Have a good one and stay warm. :)

On to a new year....
Well, Christmas is over and we are even closer to a new year. Our Christmas was fabulous! We even had a good time with my sisters. Let's rewind a bit and I'll give you a quick run down of our holidays. On Tuesday, all of us (my sisters and their families and their daughter's boyfriends) got together at El Rincon to celebrate our Christmas. Now this is easier because noone has to clean or cook, noone has enough room for 14 people and we can leave in a couple of hours. We got to meet my niece, Shannon's boyfriend who seems very nice....sarcastic like the rest of the family. We ate and laughed until we thought we would pee our pants. Most of the laughter was because Rick, Marty's husband, was having some trouble understanding our waiter. Anyways, all went well with dinner. Then comes our Christmas with Fem & L. L was on call until midnight but they were able to get to the house around 8ish and he didn't have to go back out. This year's Christmas Eve dinner was homemade pizzas and Gold'n Crisp chips....and of course cookies. We ate and everyone changed into jammies so we were comfy while opening gifts. We usually take our time and it's pretty late....okay, it's the wee hours of the morning when we're done. Then the kids stay the night. J & I love this. They stayed last year too. Dad loves having them here....he even asked if I thought once they have their own kids did I think they would still stay. We'll have to wait and see, I told him. I made an awesome Christmas breakfast and then we just hung out and got ready for the day. My sister, Mary and her girls came over for dinner and we visited for a little while. The kids had to leave to go to L's parents and Mary and her girls went home to take a nap. J & I just kicked back and relaxed the rest of the night. I know it might not sound like much but it was a great Christmas.
So now we're on to New Year's. J & L are both on call so we are staying home. The kids will come over when they can and we are going to have a couple of friends over. They know that J might get called out but they still want to come. I have everything bought for our big meal and some snackies. After New Year's day it's time to take down the decorations. I'm always ready by then. So, I'm at work today and I better get busy. Hope you all had a great holiday too!

ONE MORE WEEK....
Are you ready????? I'm getting closer. I pretty much just need to wrap. Everything else seems to be about the same. Dad's hanging in and hopefully he makes it into the new year. Work is crazy busy but what do you expect. I work at a church and it's Christmas. Been spending some good, quality time with friends and family, which is my most favorite thing to do. Bowling is even going pretty good. We have our Christmas party tomorrow night so I'm picking chicken tonight. I'm making homemade creamed chicken for sandwiches. It should be fun....eat and drink while you bowl. Life is good! So.... anyways....hope you are enjoying the Christmas season thus far. And don't forget...today is Friday Eve! :)

It's getting closer....
I LOVE Christmas!!! I always have. I love the lights, the decorations, the music, the food, sometimes the snow, and especially spending time with family and friends. Now I could get really sad here and talk about loved ones who are gone and loved ones who live WAY to far away that we can't enjoy the holidays with them but I won't. I'm not saying that I don't shed a tear or two (okay...lots of tears) because of those things and the fact that this is probably my dad's last Christmas. I still love the holiday season. I could care less about presents....getting them anyways. I love to GIVE presents! I'm just a big kid at heart I guess. I hope I stay that way too. So that's what I've been busy doing....getting ready for Christmas. We are having our staff lunch today at Rockne's so I had to get those gifts together. I did really easy and simple this year. Everyone is getting homemade truffles and a gift card to one of their favorite places. Next I needed to wrap the gifts for the Giving Tree at church because they are due this Sunday. Then I have to get the packages ready for Alaska & Florida so I can get them in the mail this Saturday. My hubby got all the cards addressed so I need to buy stamps when I mail the packages on Saturday. Fem & I are shopping on Monday night for our boys and I need to pick something up for Ernie and Charlie (our dogs). I have mega wrapping to do....but I don't even mind doing that. I also already shopped for all the food that was needed for parties, gifts and Christmas Eve & day and New Year's day. I even have all my cookies & candy done (thanks to my helper). I love years that I'm actually organized enough to have time to enjoy the holidays. This year...I am all over it! :) How are you doing with your preparations??? Hope you all have some down time to just enjoy everything about the holiday season. Peace out...until later.
